My sister’s vegetarian & her boyfriend secretly fed her meat for ages

A VEGETARIAN who feared she had Celiac disease was left stunned when she discovered her boyfriend had been secretly feeding her meat for months.

Her sister first took to Reddit’s Am I The Asshole? forum last year, to complain about her sibling’s boyfriend and his inconsideration of her partner’s gluten intolerance.

She then returned to the site earlier this week to offer an update, explaining that her sister had split from the man following a “huge blow out over the phone”.

During that call, “he admitted that he thinks dietary requirements are for ‘attention seekers’ and that vegans in particular are ‘nazis’”.

He also “confessed he’d been secretly feeding my sister meat products (swapping fake meat nuggets for chicken, using meat stock instead of veg etc.) their whole relationship”.

In addition, he “laughed that she’d not been vegetarian for the whole five months of their relationship (she’s been veggie since birth)”.

She and her family were “absolutely horrified” by the man’s admission, but glad that they’d only been together for five months before he “showed his true colours”.

And as well as being morally against eating meat, her boyfriend’s sneaky attempts to get her to eat meat had led to digestive issues that she feared was early onset Celiac disease.

“She was more angry than upset and we’ve all banded round her,” her sister wrote.

“She’s relieved to know the stomach problems she had at the time were most likely down to the unfamiliar foods being introduced into the diet, rather than a medical problem (she was worried she might have early onset Coeliac after comparing her symptoms to my partner).

“She’s had no digestive issues since they broke up, so go figure.”

In the comments section of the post, people were overwhelmingly in support of the sister, with one person writing: “Wow. Good for your sister.

“Celiac and vegetarian here. The boyfriend was an ass. Yeah, if you haven’t eaten meat in a really long time, your body apparently stops being able to process those proteins.

“Which means he really could have messed her up.”

“Congratulations to OP’s sister for the bullet dodged,” another person added.

“Life threatening food allergies here: there’s a family member I no longer talk to who used to pull s**t like this.

“Allergen poisoning is more widespread among abusers than people realise.”
