SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – In conjunction with their 111th anniversary, Saints Peter and Paul Church hold its annual Serb Fest.
The once-a-year Serb Fest is a day wherever the group arrives together to rejoice Serbian culture and assist a great trigger.
Pageant goers have been treated to homemade delicacies, reside music, and conventional Serbian dancing. The Kolo is a people dance where dancers maintain fingers and kind a circle, and all are welcome to be a part of in.
“We invite the group to get part and be element of that relatives,” stated Christiaan Corthier of Saints Peter and Paul Church. “Just like Dyngus Day is your working day to be Polish, St. Patrick’s is your working day to be Irish, properly, Serb Fest is your day to be Serbian. It’s about becoming a element of our society and our custom and dance in a Kolo out there. In Serbian tradition, the full household dances. Adult men, women of all ages, every person. And it’s just engrained for our society that we dance.”
The suggested parking donation will enable feed 200 people per month via Hope Ministries.
“We go to Hope Ministries and provide the meals as effectively. And it is simply because of men and women in this group that give generously and remaining capable to help the people that want us the most that is the icing on the cake.”
Above 800 individuals attended the function this calendar year.
Subsequent year’s Serb Fest will be held on the last Saturday of July (July 29).
