Located on Negril’s Seven-Mile Beach, Beaches Negril is the perfect, all-inclusive, one-stop vacation spot for families of all ages.
While we approach the middle of winter here in Michigan, I was so grateful to escape the cold and snow for a bit of tropical paradise at Jamaica’s Beaches Negril resort. Traveling is something I have always enjoyed, and whenever I can, I like to take my kids to new and fun places. Beaches Negril is the perfect vacation spot for the whole family, as it’s all-inclusive resort caters to kids just as much as the adults.
About Beaches Negril
While the resort is about 90 minutes away from Montego Bay Airport, they provide free airport shuttles to and from the airport included in your fees! The rooms at the resort are large and luxurious, most of which include a beahfront view. And if you aren’t familiar with all-inclusive resorts, let me give you a brief preview of what that includes: all meals and snacks, drinks and bars, family fun and activities, wifi, free shows, and fitness center.
For the Kids
My family had a blast at Beaches, and that was in large-part because my kids had endless options for fun and things to do.
If your kids were fish in a previous life like mine were, they’ll have a blast at the multiple pools and beaches you gain access to from the resort.
If you don’t want to spend all your time in the water, they also have playgrounds, an Xbox lounge, and a Kids Camp with certified nannies where you can drop the kids off for some adult time.
The biggest highlight was the Pirates Island Waterpark, which my boys could’ve lived at if I let them. And honestly, while it’s a great selling point for the kids, the water slides and lazy river were a blast for all of us!
For the Adults
Beaches’ pools include 15 different swim up bars with all drinks included in your stay, but along with the ways to relax there are many more ways to party. The entertainment at Negril was topnotch, with live shows, theme nights, bonfires, cocktail parties, and street parades; there is always something to do! We really enjoyed the silent DJ party and live music.
The white sand beaches offer plenty of space to lounge and soak up the sun, or you can go snorkeling or even scuba diving with all of your equipment provided! They provide instruction for plenty of water sports, kayaking, windsurfing. Basically if you’re interested in trying it, they probably have it!
The Food
You know I can’t travel somewhere without trying all of the food! Included in your stay is gourmet dining at 21 different restaurants, including buffets and more formal, waited establishments. While you’ll definitely find delicious local fruit and Jamaican dishes, they pride themselves on hosting cuisine from all over the world.
We loved the wide variety of options at the buffet including lots of local Jamaican specialties, like Jerk Pork and lots of seafood. Dinner under the stars was a special treat for just me and Rich, where we got to have some time alone without the kids. But the Hibachi was a great dinner with a show for the whole family!
If you haven’t tried an all-inclusive resort before for your family vacation, I highly recommend you give it a try. Removing a huge load of planning and financial stress from your plate allows you to truly enjoy yourself and the precious time you have with your family. As you plan your next tropical vacay, Beaches Negril should top the list.
Disclosure: Beaches Negril hosted my accommodations and meals during my stay, but all opinions are my own.
